SAT/ACT College Prep Specialist
SAT/ACT & College Prep Specialist / Tutor
American Prep Academy is seeking an experienced SAT/ACT & College Prep Specialist to provide virtual academic and college-readiness support to high school students across the United States.
Position Responsibilities
The specialist will:
- Provide SAT and ACT preparation in Math, Reading, English, and related test-taking strategies.
- Work individually and in small groups with students in Grades 9â12.
- Assess students' academic strengths and areas needing improvement and develop individualized preparation plans.
- Help students understand SAT/ACT formats, timing, strategies, and practice-test results.
- Provide college readiness and application support, including:
- College search and selection
- College application guidance
- Personal statement and essay support
- Common App assistance
- Scholarship research and application guidance
- College admissions preparation
- Track student progress and communicate academic goals and progress as needed.
- Help students develop strong study habits, time-management skills, and college-readiness strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Experience working with U.S. high school students.
- Demonstrated experience providing SAT and/or ACT preparation.
- Knowledge of the U.S. college admissions and application process.
- Strong understanding of academic expectations for Grades 9â12.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and student-engagement skills.
- Comfortable providing instruction through virtual learning platforms.
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently.
- Must be currently located and authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Teaching, tutoring, counseling, or college-advising experience.
- Experience helping students with college essays and applications.
- Familiarity with Common App, scholarships, financial aid, and college admissions requirements.
- Experience working with diverse, immigrant, multilingual, and first-generation college-bound students.
Schedule & Compensation
Location: Remote/Virtual â United States
Schedule: Part-time with flexible hours, including potential evenings and weekends
Starting Pay: $20 per hour
Compensation Review: Strong opportunity for a pay increase after the first three months, based on performance, student enrollment, and program growth.
