Help Build the Next Generation of SATCOM Technology
USAT is seeking an RF & Phased Array Systems Engineer to turn advanced antenna and satellite communication concepts into tested, high-performance hardware.
This hands-on R&D role spans electromagnetic theory and simulation, RF hardware, laboratory testing, and system integration. You will contribute directly to phased arrays, beamforming, microwave and millimeter-wave systems, wide-angle antennas, and SATCOM platforms associated with US Air Tech's STELLA® technology.
About US Air Tech (USAT) Corp.
USAT develops advanced RF, antenna, sensing, and space-air-ground communication technologies for LEO SATCOM, mobile platforms, ground terminals, satellite modules, and compact payloads. In our fast-moving R&D environment, engineers influence product direction and work from early concepts through prototypes, demonstrations, and transition toward production.
What You Will Do
- Design and analyze phased-array, electronically steered, multi-beam, and hybrid lens-array architectures for SATCOM, tracking, and RF sensing.
- Evaluate beamforming, gain, radiation patterns, polarization, sidelobes, grating lobes, mutual coupling, scan loss, and beam-pointing accuracy.
- Perform RF link budgets and system analysis, including EIRP, G/T, noise figure, signal-to-noise ratio, path loss, and link margin.
- Model antenna elements, arrays, Luneburg lens configurations, feed networks, radomes, waveguides, and microwave structures.
- Design and troubleshoot RF front ends using LNAs, power amplifiers, filters, mixers, phase shifters, switches, and related components.
- Conduct RF and antenna testing using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, anechoic chambers, and antenna measurement systems.
- Build and integrate prototypes while collaborating with FPGA, DSP, software, embedded, mechanical, manufacturing, and systems engineers.
- Document results and help mature successful concepts into reliable, manufacturable RF hardware and operational demonstrations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Applied Electromagnetics, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Three or more years of relevant experience in RF, microwave, antennas, phased arrays, SATCOM, radar, RF sensing, or related system development.
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, RF propagation, antenna theory, microwave circuits, phased arrays, beamforming, and beam steering.
- Experience with RF or electromagnetic tools such as ANSYS HFSS, CST, FEKO, COMSOL, ADS, AWR, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent platforms.
- Hands-on RF test and troubleshooting experience, including the ability to correlate measurements with theoretical and simulated performance.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, ownership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Electromagnetics, RF/Microwave Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Electronically steered arrays; analog, digital, or hybrid beamforming; and phased-array calibration.
- Luneburg or dielectric lens antennas, metasurfaces, reflect arrays, transmit arrays, or conformal antennas.
- LEO SATCOM, tracking terminals, ground or mobile terminals, airborne systems, space payloads, or X- through W-band systems.
- FPGA, DSP, embedded processing, software-defined radio, multi-beam operation, mono pulse tracking, or direction finding.
- Antenna-range, EMI/EMC, thermal, vibration, or environmental testing for aerospace, defense, DoD, DARPA, NASA, or SBIR/STTR programs.
