About the Role
QLS Technologies is building a platform for biotech portfolio analytics and capital allocation. We’re hiring a Research Engineer — a builder who can advance the analytical theory behind the product, own the data integration beneath it, and shape how it’s used. This is a hands-on role for someone equally comfortable in research, engineering, and product, who wants to help turn novel financial models into a working platform.
Responsibilities
- Advance the analytical and statistical models at the core of the platform — not just implement them, but help develop them.
- Build and own the data-integration and modeling infrastructure end to end.
- Shape the product’s UI/UX so that sophisticated models are usable by non-specialists.
- Translate learnings from live client engagements into product improvements.
- Collaborate closely with research and product as the platform matures.

- Strong statistical and quantitative foundation, with fluency in modern AI tooling.
- Research instinct paired with hands-on engineering and genuine product judgment.
- Comfortable spanning theory, data, and interface — a generalist builder, not a narrow specialist.
- Scrappy, self-directed, and intrinsically motivated; thrives with ambiguity and little structure.
