Internship - 2027 MBA IT Enterprise Application Intern

 

The role of MBA IT Enterprise Application Intern is intended to start in Summer 2027.

An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year. 3M provides eligible interns with a housing and transportation stipend in accordance with current policy. 

 

Interns work on projects that represent real challenges faced by 3M's business units and mirror the work conducted by full-time members of the department. Through networking and corporate-sponsored events, interns are exposed to many facets of 3M. 

 

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.

Each internship will differ based on business needs. Projects responsibilities may include:  

  • Partnering with multiple process teams to understand new or changing system capability requirements, including both technical and functional needs.
  • Developing solution options to address business requirements and recommending a preferred approach.
  • Collaborating with business users to identify where delivered system capabilities require modification or enhancement to better meet business needs. 

 

Your Skills and Expertise  

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree, or higher, from an accredited institution  

 

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • Completion of at least one semester of MBA coursework by the start of the internship. 
  • Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. 
  • Demonstrated business operations acumen. 
  • Foundational knowledge of technical applications and infrastructure. 
  • Strong problem-solving mindset. 
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems. 
  • Strong team collaboration skills. 

 

Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. 

 

Travel: N/A 


Relocation: 3M provides eligible interns with a housing and transportation stipend in accordance with current policy.  

 

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
