Bilingual Media Studies Mentor

Position Title: Bilingual Media Studies Academic Mentor (Part-Time, Remote)

We are seeking a bilingual academic mentor with a strong background in Media Studies, Communication, Digital Media, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, or a related field. The candidate must be fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese and able to provide bilingual instruction.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable supporting conceptually challenging and theory-based subjects, including media theory, visual culture, digital culture, critical analysis, and contemporary media issues.

Responsibilities

• Help students understand complex readings, theories, and key course concepts
• Explain English-language course materials clearly in both English and Mandarin Chinese
• Guide students in analyzing media texts, case studies, and academic arguments
• Support the development of critical thinking, research, and academic writing skills
• Provide structured feedback based on each student’s course materials and learning needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Media Studies, Communication, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Digital Media, or a related discipline
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required
• Ability to conduct lessons and explain academic concepts in both languages
• Strong understanding of media theory and interdisciplinary approaches
• Previous teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience is preferred
• Clear communication skills and a responsible, student-centered approach
