The Role

We’re looking for a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to join Jolo as a founding technical partner and help shape the core of our matching and learning systems.

This is not a “take tickets and build models” role.

This is a chance to help define what should be modeled in the first place.

You’ll work closely with the founders to translate behavioral science concepts into real, production-grade machine learning systems—and help decide what should not be automated.

What You’ll Work On

• Designing and iterating on matching models that go beyond skills and keywords
  
   
• Translating behavioral science frameworks into features, signals, and representations
  
   
• Building and evaluating early-stage ML models (classification, ranking, clustering, embeddings, etc.)
  
   
• Experimenting with anonymized data pipelines that reduce bias by design
  
   
• Helping define ethical, transparent, and human-first AI principles for the platform
  
   
• Collaborating on product decisions where data, psychology, and UX intersect
  
   

What We’re Looking For

• Have strong experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI
  
   
• Are comfortable working with imperfect, early-stage data
  
   
• Care deeply about how and why models are used—not just performance metrics
  
   
• Have experience with Python, ML frameworks, and modern data workflows
