Dental Field Service Technician – Dental Equipment PM & Repair (Leander, Texas)

We are currently staffing an immediate, high-priority dental equipment service and preventive maintenance field engagement for a premier dental facility in Leander, Texas.

Project Dates: Flexible Dispatch / Immediate On-Site Visit (Single-day field service visit with ongoing local project opportunities)

Schedule: High-impact window, approximately 4–8 hours total per dispatch

Location: Leander, Texas

We welcome entry-level dental technicians, biomedical professionals, semi-skilled mechanical/electrical technicians, and experienced field service engineers looking for hands-on dental technology and clinical equipment experience.

Role Overview

Technicians will perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, mechanical repair, preventive maintenance, and operational verification on core dental operatory systems (e.g., compressed air supply, dental chairs, air-water delivery units), working alongside MedServ lead service engineers. Responsibilities include:

Pre-Dispatch Alignment: Participating in brief technical briefings with Lead Operations Engineers to review equipment manuals, schematics, and practice-specific scheduling constraints.

On-Site Field Troubleshooting & Service:

Dental Air Compressors & Vacuum Systems: Diagnosing no-power conditions, electrical supply issues, pressure switch failures, and motor start components on quiet-flow dental compressors (e.g., Dansereau / QuietFlow series).

Dental Delivery & Operatory Equipment: Performing pneumatic leak checks, replacing worn tubing, adjusting water pressure regulators, and rebuilding air-water syringes (e.g., resolving air-function failures and hiss noises).

Dental Chairs & Hydraulics: Inspecting foot pedals, hydraulic lift actuators, and articulation controls to restore smooth elevation and recline movements.

Testing & Verification: Verifying electrical safety, air pressure stability, line moisture filtration, and overall operatory functionality across all practice treatment rooms.

Digital Documentation: Completing digital service work orders, logging root-cause analysis, and uploading photo documentation upon job completion to ensure client sign-off and audit readiness.

Clinical Purpose

This project directly supports dental practice continuity, ensuring patient care rooms remain fully operational and compliance-ready without costly facility downtime.

Additional Scope & Future Use Cases

Beyond this engagement, network technicians gain hands-on exposure to a wide variety of dental and biomedical equipment projects, including:

Sterilization Equipment PM: Servicing, replacing gaskets, and calibrating door seals on mid-to-large capacity dental autoclaves (e.g., Tuttnauer, Midmark, STERIS).

Dental Imaging & X-Ray Systems: Assisting with positioning, calibration, and hardware upgrades for intraoral X-ray units, sensors, and 3D CBCT systems.

Operatory Retrofits & Installations: Mounting utility lines, LED operatory lighting, delivery heads, and patient monitoring setups for modern dental practices.

Note: Technical guidance, SOPs, and service procedures will be fully provided prior to and during on-site deployment.

Compensation

Active On-Site Field Labor Rate: $100.00 / hour

Travel Mobilization Rate: $50.00 / hour (Covering travel time to/from site)
