Associate Producer, Celebrations

Title: Event Production Internship: Associate Producer, Celebrations (Paid, Weekdays)

See how a luxury experience runs behind the curtain.

Who we are

The Little Play Avenue is a private children's club in Phoenix, built on one belief: a family should feel known from the moment they walk in. Before a celebration, we learn the birthday child's favorite color, their favorite song, and the name of the stuffed animal they sleep with. Then we design the day around them. Our standard comes from the world's great hotels and dining rooms, and we bring it, in full, to a 4-year-old's birthday.

The internship

A guest sees an effortless afternoon. Behind it are 30 details that arrived exactly on time: cookies iced with the right names, the magician at 2:15, linens in the precise blue on the board. You'll run that side of the house, working directly with our Director of Operations.

This is operations at a business where the product is a feeling. You'll manage vendors, budgets, and timelines, and you'll see how each one shows up in the room on Saturday.

What you'll own

  • Sourcing and ordering decor, tableware, and custom pieces for each celebration, tracked to the door
  • Our vendor relationships: caterers, entertainers, bakers, and our photographer, booked and confirmed
  • Invitations, from template to family-approved proof
  • Print production with our trade printer
  • Returns, inventory, and keeping every celebration inside its budget
  • The celebration tracker, so anyone on the team can see where a party stands

What you'll learn

  • How the best hospitality brands build systems that make personal service repeatable, in a first-week immersion
  • Vendor management, purchasing, and margin on a real P&L
  • The economics of a premium experience business, in monthly sessions with our founder
  • By semester's end, you'll produce a capstone celebration from booking to thank-you card

Who thrives here

Business, supply chain, hospitality, and event management majors. You love a checklist and a clean spreadsheet. You write a warm, clear email, you follow up on your own, and you catch the misspelled name before it reaches the baker. Reliable transportation for local pickups, please.

What you'll leave with

Operations experience with numbers attached, a letter of recommendation, and our support if you're pursuing academic credit.

To apply

Send your resume, a photo, and one example of something you organized from start to finish. A background check is part of our hiring process.
