Development Intern
Position Overview:
Entryway is a national nonprofit that partners with the multifamily housing industry to create pathways to economic independence for individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Through career training, full-time employment, and access to stable housing, Entryway helps participants build a foundation for long-term success.
Entryway is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Intern to support the organization’s fundraising, prospect research, donor data management, and development operations. Working closely with the Director of Development, the Development Intern will help strengthen the systems, data, and research that support Entryway’s national and local fundraising efforts. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit development, fundraising strategy, research, data management, or the multifamily housing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Donor Data Management
- Create and update accounts, contacts, opportunities, and other development information in Salesforce.
- Build out prospect records with relevant information, including addresses, websites, key contacts, and research findings.
- Enter and organize relationship notes and updates provided by Entryway leadership and staff to ensure important institutional knowledge is captured in Salesforce.
- Map relationships within Salesforce to help Entryway understand connections among National Board and Community Advisory Board members, current partners, and prospective partners.
- Help maintain accurate and complete Salesforce records to strengthen prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management.
- Update opportunities and related information following quarterly Partnership Committee meetings. Fundraising & Market Support
- Support local Executive Directors with development-related administrative needs, including uploading and organizing grant documents and funder information. • Assist with preparation and organization of materials for fundraising and partnership meetings.
- Support special development research, data, and Salesforce projects as needed.
- Assist the Director of Development with other fundraising, stewardship, and development operations projects throughout the semester.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with an interest in nonprofit management, fundraising, business, research, data management, or a related field.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data. • Strong written communication skills.
- Comfortable learning new technology and database systems.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Professional judgment when working with confidential donor and organizational information.
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is a plus but not required.
