Software Engineer

Job Title: Software Engineer

Company: Pascal Tags Inc.

Location: Louisville, KY (In-person)

Summary of Software Engineer Role

We are a pioneering startup poised to revolutionize the supply chain by introducing groundbreaking serialization capabilities for products that have remained unchanged for decades. Our innovative approach involves developing the first-ever chip-less inventory tag, enabling the serialization of every product to streamline inventory management. Currently, we are seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help build and scale the software behind our technology as we move from pilots to large-scale customer deployments. A major focus of this role is integrating Pascal into the enterprise systems used by Fortune 100, Fortune 500, and medium-sized manufacturers. This engineer will work directly with our engineering team and customers to connect Pascal’s detectors, edge systems, and cloud infrastructure with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platforms such as SAP and Oracle, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and other customer software and databases.

Despite our primary challenge of scalability, we have secured contracts with reputable companies such as GE and Brown-Forman, along with substantial funding and support from investors like Mark Cuban. We need a Software Engineer who can move quickly, solve difficult technical problems, and help build the software infrastructure required to replace the barcode and redefine supply chains forever.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Louisville, Kentucky. Compensation includes a competitive salary, a sign-on bonus, and equity in Pascal. Pascal also covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for the employee.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy production software that powers Pascal’s chip-less RF inventory system across edge devices, cloud services, and customer-facing applications.

• Build reliable APIs, data pipelines, and integrations that move tag, detector, location, and inventory data between Pascal and customer enterprise systems, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), databases, and other manufacturing software.

• Develop software for real-time industrial deployments where reliability, speed, observability, and simple operator workflows are critical.

• Develop and optimize software running on embedded Linux systems, systems on modules, and other edge computing hardware connected to Pascal detectors.

• Own and support software integrations and deployments used in live manufacturing and supply-chain environments at Fortune 100, Fortune 500, and medium-sized manufacturers, including integrations with platforms such as SAP, Oracle, MES, and customer-specific systems.

• Work closely with RF, signal processing, firmware, mechanical, and customer teams across R&D, production, and field deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Due to the nature of supporting government contracts, you must be a U.S. citizen

• Demonstrated ability to build, debug, and ship software systems. Startup, internship, co-op, or professional engineering experience is preferred.

• Strong programming experience across modern backend and frontend technologies. Experience with Java is strongly preferred, with additional experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C/C++, or similar languages valuable depending on the application.

• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native development is highly preferred, including deploying, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting production services in AWS.

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications is critical. Experience with container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and scalable cloud deployment practices is a strong plus.

• Experience building backend services, REST APIs, databases, networking, and distributed systems is preferred. Experience with modern frontend development and building internal or customer-facing web applications is also valuable.

• Experience with enterprise integrations is strongly preferred. Experience integrating with SAP, Oracle, ERP, MES, WMS, or similar enterprise manufacturing systems is a strong plus.

• Comfortable working directly with hardware and debugging systems that span software, networking, embedded devices, and physical equipment. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, IoT, or hardware-software systems is a plus.

• Optional: Experience building internal AI systems and tools, including local or self-hosted LLMs, Ollama, RAG pipelines, AI agents, model APIs, or similar AI infrastructure.
