Community Partnerships & Marketing Intern

Champagne Cutz | Austin, TX
Paid Part-Time Internship | $17/hour + performance bonuses | ~4 hours/week

About Champagne Cutz

Champagne Cutz is an Austin-based pet grooming company bringing professional grooming directly to apartment communities.

We partner with residential communities to provide convenient on-site grooming services, resident-exclusive offers, and unique pet-focused experiences such as our signature Champagne Cutz Yappy Hours.

We’re a growing local business, which means this internship offers something different from a traditional corporate internship: you’ll work directly with the founder, contribute ideas, and have the opportunity to see how your work impacts the growth of the company.

About the Internship

We’re looking for a creative, outgoing, and motivated college student who wants to develop real-world skills in marketing, business development, social media, sales, and entrepreneurship.

As a Community Partnerships & Marketing Intern, you’ll help Champagne Cutz grow in two major areas:

1. Building relationships with apartment communities throughout Austin

You’ll help identify potential community partners, make introductory calls, communicate with leasing teams, follow up with prospective partners, and help schedule partnership meetings with our founder.

2. Helping grow the Champagne Cutz brand through social media

You’ll help brainstorm content for Instagram and TikTok, research trends, develop video concepts and hooks, and help us find creative ways to tell the Champagne Cutz story.

This is a hands-on internship. You won’t just observe—you’ll have opportunities to contribute ideas, communicate with real businesses, and help shape how a growing brand markets itself.

What You’ll Do

  • Research apartment communities and potential partnership opportunities throughout the Austin area.
  • Make introductory calls to apartment leasing offices and property management teams.
  • Identify and communicate with relevant decision-makers.
  • Send outreach and follow-up emails using company-provided messaging.
  • Help schedule qualified partnership meetings for the founder.
  • Maintain an organized outreach pipeline and track follow-ups.
  • Brainstorm Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories, and other social content.
  • Research social media trends relevant to dogs, grooming, lifestyle, and apartment living.
  • Develop content ideas, video hooks, captions, and calls to action.
  • Help create and maintain a simple social media content calendar.
  • Help organize existing grooming and event photos/videos for future content.
  • Potentially participate in local apartment visits, Champagne Cutz events, and content creation as the role develops.

What You’ll Learn

This internship is designed to help you build skills you can carry into future roles, including:

  • Social media marketing and content strategy
  • B2B sales and business development
  • Lead generation and prospecting
  • Professional communication
  • Relationship building
  • Brand strategy and storytelling
  • Customer relationship management
  • Entrepreneurship and small-business operations

Because you’ll work directly with the founder, you’ll also get exposure to the decisions involved in building and growing an early-stage business.

Who We’re Looking For

This could be a great fit if you:

  • Are currently enrolled in college.
  • Are interested in marketing, business, communications, PR, entrepreneurship, sales, or a related field.
  • Want hands-on experience rather than an internship where you primarily observe.
  • Enjoy Instagram and TikTok and pay attention to what makes content engaging.
  • Are comfortable talking to new people.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are creative and willing to share your ideas.
  • Are organized and follow through on responsibilities.
  • Can work independently with guidance from the founder.
  • Are eager to learn and receptive to feedback.

Previous professional sales or marketing experience is not required.

Experience with Canva, CapCut, social media management, photography, or short-form video editing is a plus, but not required.

Compensation

  • $17/hour
  • Approximately 4 hours per week to start
  • $25 bonus for each qualified partnership meeting completed as a result of your outreach
  • $50 bonus for each new community partnership activated through your outreach
  • Flexible scheduling around classes
  • Initial 30-day paid pilot with the opportunity to continue and take on additional responsibilities based on performance and business needs

Some outreach will need to take place during normal apartment leasing-office business hours. (9am-5pm)

Location

Austin, Texas

The role will initially include a mix of remote work and potentially local, in-person opportunities. Candidates should be located in the Austin area and have reliable transportation if participating in community visits or events.

Why Champagne Cutz?

We want this internship to be mutually beneficial.

Champagne Cutz gets someone who can bring new energy and ideas to our growing company, and you get an opportunity to build practical experience you can discuss in interviews, include on your résumé, and potentially add to your marketing portfolio.

As the company grows, there may also be opportunities to take on more responsibility in social media, partnerships, community events, and marketing.

To Apply

Please submit your résumé and a short response to:

Why are you interested in this internship, and what skills are you hoping to develop?

Optional: If you already have an idea for an Instagram Reel or TikTok that Champagne Cutz could create, we’d love to hear it.
