Sensei (Part-Time Instructor)

Do you enjoy working with kids? Do you like technology, gaming, Dungeons & Dragons, 3D printing, robotics, or creative projects?

If so, you might be a great fit for our team.

At Code Ninjas Fargo, we help kids ages 5-14 build games, solve problems, create amazing projects, and learn that they can do hard things. We're looking for a positive, reliable Sensei who enjoys mentoring kids and helping them discover new interests.

No programming experience is required.

We can teach coding. What we're looking for is someone who enjoys working with children, has a positive attitude, and isn't afraid to embrace their inner nerd.

Schedule Requirements

Availability beginning at 2:45 PM; at least 2-3 weekdays per week is required.

Additional evening and weekend hours may be available.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with students ages 5-14
  • Guide kids through coding and STEM projects
  • Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance
  • Help students build confidence as they learn new skills
  • Support camps, special events, and Parent's Night Out programs
  • Help maintain a clean and welcoming dojo environment

Things We Do Around Here

A typical day might include:

  • Helping a student build a video game
  • Running a Dungeons & Dragons adventure
  • Working with Minecraft projects
  • Experimenting with robotics
  • 3D printing creations
  • Celebrating when a student finally solves a problem they've been stuck on

Ideal Candidates

You don't need to be a programmer or have any programming experience.

You do need to be:

  • Dependable
  • Positive
  • Patient
  • Comfortable working with children
  • Excited about learning new things
  • Able to create a fun and welcoming environment

Experience with education, tutoring, gaming, technology, STEM, camps, youth programs, Minecraft, D&D, or robotics is a plus, but not required.
