UX Designer

About the role

PortfolioFuture builds investment research products around a difficult problem: helping investors determine whether an ETF or mutual fund deserves attention, understand what drives its returns, and identify better alternatives.

The UX Designer helps make that research clear, intuitive, and useful.

You will work on how investors move from discovering a fund to understanding the evidence behind it. The role focuses on information hierarchy, interaction design, and making complex investment research easier to understand without removing the detail that makes it valuable.

What you’ll work on

• Design and improve the user experience across fund discovery, ETF alternatives, fund replication, and investment research.

• Decide how rankings, comparisons, evidence, explanations, and fund information should be organized on the page.

• Improve first-time comprehension so users can quickly understand what PortfolioFuture found and why it matters.

• Translate quantitative research into clear visual and interactive experiences.

• Improve the path from a fund page to deeper research, comparisons, and related investment opportunities.

• Identify where users become confused, miss important evidence, or fail to understand the value of the research.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and product designs for new and existing research experiences.

• Test design ideas with users and use feedback to improve product comprehension.

• Build reusable design patterns that can scale across thousands of funds and research pages.

• Work closely with research and engineering from problem definition through implementation.

What we’re looking for

• Strong foundation in UX design, product design, interaction design, information architecture, HCI, or a related discipline.

• Strong judgment around information hierarchy, navigation, and complex decision-oriented interfaces.

• Ability to simplify analytical information without distorting its meaning.

• Ability to explain the reasoning behind design decisions.

• Experience with Figma or comparable product-design and prototyping tools.

• Strong attention to detail and visual execution.

• Interest in investing, ETFs, fintech, financial data, or analytical products.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem solving, particularly for data-heavy or complex products, is highly valued.
