Reports to: President and Founder

Position Summary

The Director of Development is responsible for fundraising, donor relations, community partnerships, and expansion efforts for The WHIT Program (Weekly, Hands-On, Independent Tutoring). The primary focus is securing the financial and community support needed to provide free tutoring to more children in foster care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, foundations, and sponsors.

• Research and pursue grant and foundation opportunities.

• Secure financial contributions, sponsorships, and in-kind donations.

• Represent The WHIT Program at community meetings, conferences, presentations, and events.

• Assist with fundraising events, sponsor recruitment, and donor follow-up.

• Support statewide expansion efforts.

• Maintain accurate records of donor contacts, grants, sponsorships, meetings, and follow-up.

• Provide regular development and fundraising updates to the President.

Expectations

The Director of Development will maintain an active pipeline of donors, grants, sponsors, and community partners while representing The WHIT Program professionally and enthusiastically.

Success will be measured by increased financial support, strong donor relationships, new partnerships, and continued growth of The WHIT Program.
