Position Summary

True Blue TV Event Productions is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Event Production

Logistics Worker to support the transportation, preparation, movement, and organization of

equipment used for university events and outside productions.

This position plays an important role in supporting the department's audio, video, lighting,

staging, livestreaming, and event production operations. The Logistics Worker will transport

equipment using university box trucks, load and unload road cases and production equipment,

assist with event load-ins and load-outs, and help ensure crews have the equipment they need to

successfully execute events.

This is a high-volume, fast-paced event production environment where multiple events may

be taking place simultaneously. The ability to work efficiently under time constraints, safely

handle equipment, communicate with production staff, and adapt to changing priorities is

essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate university box trucks and other authorized vehicles to transport audio, video,

lighting, staging, and event production equipment.

• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload road cases, equipment carts, staging equipment,

cable trunks, and other production equipment.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any vehicle or equipment

concerns.

• Safely maneuver heavy road cases and equipment through loading docks, ramps,

hallways, elevators, doorways, and event spaces.

• Use appropriate lifting, pushing, pulling, and material-handling techniques at all times.

• Work as part of a production crew during event load-ins, setups, strikes, and load-outs.

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of staging, audio, video, lighting, and other event

production equipment.

• Operate dollies, hand trucks, carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as

authorized and trained.

• Secure equipment properly inside box trucks and trailers to prevent movement or damage

during transportation.

• Maintain organized trucks, equipment storage areas, loading docks, and production

workspaces.

• Prepare equipment for upcoming events according to production schedules and crew

requirements.

• Assist with inventory management, equipment organization, and equipment preparation.• Inspect road cases and equipment for damage before and after transportation and report

issues to the appropriate supervisor.

• Follow all university and department safety procedures.

• Work safely around forklifts, aerial lifts, trucks, staging systems, electrical equipment,

and active production environments.

• Communicate effectively with production supervisors, technicians, student employees,

event staff, and other university personnel.

• Provide professional customer service when representing True Blue TV Event

Productions at university and off-campus events.

• Perform other logistics and event production duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Demonstrated ability to safely operate a box truck.

• Ability to safely load, unload, move, and transport heavy road cases and production

equipment.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when

required by the event schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in live event production, audiovisual production, staging, theater,

concerts, athletics, broadcasting, or entertainment.

• Previous experience driving box trucks or transporting production equipment.

• Experience loading and unloading road cases and production equipment.

• Experience working in arenas, theaters, convention centers, athletic facilities,

universities, or other large event venues.

• Experience operating dollies, pallet jacks, forklifts, aerial lifts, or similar equipment.

• Forklift or aerial lift certification.

• Basic knowledge of professional audio, video, lighting, staging, or event production

equipment.

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and requires employees to safely perform tasks associated

with event production logistics.

The employee must be able to:• Lift and carry production equipment and road cases.

• Push and pull heavy equipment carts and cases.

• Load and unload box trucks and trailers.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs or ramps.

• Maneuver equipment through tight spaces, doorways, ramps, elevators, and loading

docks.

• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Work safely around moving vehicles and active production equipment.

Employees are expected to use proper lifting and material-handling practices at all times.

Employees must recognize when equipment requires additional personnel or mechanical

assistance and request help rather than attempting an unsafe lift or movement.

Work Environment

True Blue TV Event Productions supports a large volume of university events and productions

throughout the year. The Logistics Worker may support multiple events in a single day and must

be comfortable working in an environment where schedules and priorities can change quickly.

Work may take place in:

• Murphy Center and other MTSU athletic facilities

• Theaters and performance venues

• Classrooms and conference facilities

• Outdoor event spaces

• Stadium and athletic fields

• Loading docks and warehouse/storage areas

• University parking areas

• Off-campus event venues

The position may require:

• Early morning starts

• Evening / some weekend work

• Extended workdays during major events

• Working outdoors in hot, cold, wet, or changing weather conditions

• Working under tight event load-in and load-out schedules

• Use proper lifting and material-handling techniques.• Safely operate vehicles and equipment only when properly trained and authorized.

• Maintain awareness of surroundings when working around vehicles, forklifts, lifts,

staging, and production equipment.

• Immediately report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents to a

supervisor.

• Never bypass established safety procedures in order to meet an event deadline.
