Structural Engineer I
The Structural Engineer I position is intended for engineers with initial professional experience who are continuing to develop their technical skills. The engineer will work under the close supervision of a Supervising Engineer and will receive regular guidance on assignments.
Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents using established engineering methods and software. The engineer will apply standard design procedures and support senior staff in the execution of structural design tasks.
Projects may include high rise residential, mixed-use, educational, and renovation work. The engineer may conduct occasional site visits and attend meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering / Master’s preferred
- E.I.T. Exam/ PE preferred
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in the execution of commercial, institutional, or residential building projects in the USA. Experience in high rise and rehabilitation a plus
- Familiarity in development of structural calculation, models, and contract documents
- Familiarity with ETABS, SAFE, RAM, Excel or similar structural design packages
- Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of state and city building codes
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Effective self-leadership and attention to detail
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements
- Ability to conduct site visits and structural observations
