River Valley Services (RVS), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a PSRB/Competency Monitor (PCN 155188). This important position will serve as part of our Forensic Unit team in Middletown.

 

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

 

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Work Shift: First shift, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: 351 Silver St, Middletown, CT

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Coordinate comprehensive transition and discharge plans for individuals under PSRB supervision
  • Collaborate with inpatient treatment teams, outpatient providers, residential programs, and community partners
  • Ensure continuity of care and effective risk management during transitions
  • Support individual recovery and help facilitate safe movement to community living
  • Promote long‑term stability and connection to ongoing behavioral health services

River Valley Services (RVS), a community mental health center serving Middlesex County and the towns of Lyme and Old Lyme, is operated by the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). RVS’s goal is to provide the highest quality crisis intervention, case management, and residential and clinical services to adult citizens, 18 years of age and older, who suffer from serious mental disorders and who lack the financial means to secure such services in the private sector. River Valley Services (RVS) provides comprehensive behavioral health services throughout the community, helping individuals achieve greater independence, stability, and successful integration into community living.

 

Please note:

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

 

A Master’s degree in a mental health or related health care discipline and three (3) years of experience providing assessment, treatment planning, and direct treatment services to persons with severe and prolonged psychiatric disabilities.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Possess licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience providing forensic clinical assessment and treatment
  • Experience with public speaking and/or testifying
  • Experience writing professional communication for internal/external stakeholders
