Child Respite Care Provider - Bloomer, WI

We are seeking a caring, patient, and physically active caregiver to provide respite care to a non-verbal, autistic young boy in Bloomer, WI. It is very important to the family that a provider is willing to bond with their child by engaging in his interests. If you have an appreciation for people that are different, and enjoy learning about what makes them different, this could be a great fit for you and this family!

 

Schedule:

Tuesdays & Fridays from 1-5pm

 

Wage: $14.13/hr

 

About The Child-

This child is nonverbal and communicates physically (leading), with certain noises, and books. He is currently learning to use a letter board to communicate as well. He's a very active busy-body that loves to spend time playing outside and going out in the community once he is comfortable with a care provider. 

Respite care will take place in the child's home until the child is comfortable leaving the home with the provider. 

 

Interests/Favorite Activities:

  • Jumping on the trampoline
  • Swinging
  • Walking, bike rides
  • Books/ going to the library
  • Splash pad
  • Independent play with his toys
  • Watching Charlie Brown & Little Bear 
  • Looking at mechanical diagrams 
  • Being in motion in general
  • Car rides
  • Spending time with the people around him

 

 

Responsibilities-

  • Supervision & safety at all times
  • Personal cares (this child utilizes diapers)
  • Meal prepping
  • Local outings
  • 1:1 engagement via his preferred activities

 

Requirements-

  • Experience with children with autism/special needs
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable vehicle & auto insurance
  • Physically able to keep up with a young child
