About Samaritan Scout
Samaritan Scout is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism by connecting individuals with meaningful, in-person opportunities to support their local communities. As the web's first search engine for volunteer activities that do not require monetary contributions, we leverage modern technology to make community engagement accessible and impactful.
We are looking for a creative and driven Grant Writing Intern. The position is responsible for researching, planning, writing, submitting, and tracking compelling grant proposals to secure funding in support of Samaritan Scout. You will be working closely with our Social Media Marketing Intern to find grants and brainstorm ideas that align with Samaritan Scout's mission
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with Samaritan Scout
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to promoting volunteerism.
- Currently enrolled college student or recent graduate.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.
- Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with persuasive writing
- Word, Google Docs, or equivalent
- Aesthetic eye/passion for document formatting
