Job Description
This position is responsible for developing relationships with business and industry partners in the region to sell EICC continuing education and professional development courses, with an explicit focus on the Clinton, DeWitt and Maquoketa areas (Clinton and Jackson counties). The Business Solution Consultant will maintain a portfolio of accounts, develop new leads and solicit new community partners.

For the Clinton, DeWitt and Maquoketa areas, a successful Business Solutions Consultant will:

- Manage and grow a portfolio of business and industry partner accounts across the Clinton region to sell EICC custom/contract training programs, continuing education courses, and apprenticeship/internship projects, to meet established personal and team revenue goals.
- Serve as go-to training partner to businesses in the Clinton, DeWitt and Maquoketa areas (Clinton and Jackson counties).
- Work with other Business Solutions Consultants, EICC Continuing Education Program Managers, and EICC Workforce Development leaders to identify and design new training programs and courses.
- Work with EICC Marketing and Communications teams to develop marketing materials and promote EICC continuing education opportunities, EICC events, and regional industry conferences and events.
- Collect partner feedback data and use it to improve partner service and engage in continuous program improvement.

 

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and (3) three years of related experience
OR
(4) four years of related experience in lieu of the degree, plus the additional (3) three years required for the position, for a total of (7) seven years of related experience, is required

In addition, Excellent communication and organization skills, previous case management skills or sales skills is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Manufacturing/skilled trades background highly preferred

CRM experience, background in business or non-credit programming

Physical Demands
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and job specific tools
- Lifting up to 50 pounds to a height of three feet
- Perform all normal and expected duties of a skilled trade
- Lifting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, stooping, turning/twisting, balancing, reaching and handling with varying frequencies
- Frequent lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling objects

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assess local workforce and training needs by regularly engaging with businesses, industries, agencies, and employers to identify current and emerging workforce challenges, skills gaps, credentialing needs, and professional development opportunities.2. Research workforce trends, industry demands, market opportunities, and competitor offerings to align college programs, credentials, continuing education, and workforce solutions with the needs of employers and the communities served.3. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local employers, corporations, government agencies, nonprofits, workforce boards, industry organizations, economic development partners, and other stakeholders to expand workforce development and business opportunities.4. Identify, develop, and manage new business and revenue opportunities by prospecting targeted markets, developing client relationships, maintaining an active sales pipeline, and working toward established annual sales, revenue, and client engagement goals.5. Develop customized training solutions by partnering with employers and subject matter experts to create training plans, curricula, schedules, instructional resources, and credentialing opportunities that address specific workforce needs.6. Coordinate the implementation and evaluation of workforce training and apprenticeship programs by collaborating with Program Managers, Registered Apprenticeship Coordinators, instructors, and other stakeholders, while monitoring outcomes and providing ongoing follow-up and support to participating employers and training recipients.7. Support workforce and economic development initiatives by collaborating with leadership and internal partners to identify and develop grant-funded, customized training, Iowa 260E, 260F, apprenticeship, and other workforce development opportunities.8. Assist with program and project administration, including budget monitoring, performance tracking, documentation, reporting, and maintenance of accurate client, employer, and opportunity information within the local CRM.9. Promote workforce development, continuing education, customized training, and business support services through targeted outreach, presentations, networking, employer engagement, coordinated marketing activities, and other strategies designed to increase awareness and participation.10. Provide business and employer advising and resource coordination by helping entrepreneurs, small businesses, and organizations address business, financial, marketing, management, workforce, and training needs and connecting them with appropriate educational resources, professional services, lenders, community partners, and other available resources.11. Provide exceptional customer service and ongoing relationship management by responding to internal and external customer needs, following up on training and business engagements, identifying future opportunities, and ensuring services meet or exceed customer expectations.12. Travel throughout the assigned service area as needed to conduct employer outreach, assess business and workforce needs, facilitate partnerships, deliver presentations, support training initiatives, and engage with community and industry stakeholders.13. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of workforce development, business engagement, economic development, and institutional priorities.14. Other duties as assigned.
