Group Leader – After-School Program

Organization:  Inwood Community Services

School: TEP Charter School

Position: Group Leader

Program Hours: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Program Period: September 2026 – June 2028

Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Summary

Inwood Community Services is seeking a responsible, energetic, and flexible Group Leader to support our after-school program at TEP Charter School. The Group Leader will provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for elementary school students during after-school hours.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is dependable and patient, and can work collaboratively with students, families, and program staff.

Responsibilities

Supervise and engage elementary school students during after-school hours.

Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, homework support, and recreational activities.

Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students.

Build positive relationships with students and encourage teamwork and respectful behavior.

Assist students with homework and other age-appropriate learning activities.

Follow all school and program policies and safety procedures.

Communicate effectively with the Program Director and other staff regarding student needs and daily activities.

Support daily arrival, dismissal, transitions, and clean-up procedures.

Be flexible and willing to assist with various program needs as they arise.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least 1 year of experience working with elementary school-age children required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Dependable, responsible, and punctual.

Patient, positive, and energetic when working with children.

Flexible and willing to adapt to changing program needs.

Commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for students.

Schedule

Monday–Friday 3:30 PM–6:30 PM

September 2026 through June 2028 (With potential to work for our Summer Camp)
