IT Business Analyst Intern

POSITION PURPOSE:

KeHE’s Internship Program is seeking rising juniors, seniors, and MBA students who have demonstrated strong academic performance, leadership, and initiative through coursework, work experience, campus involvement, or volunteer activities.

Top candidates will be evaluated based on their alignment with KeHE’s core values and their potential to grow into future leaders within the organization.

This highly selective program provides interns the opportunity to support and contribute to impactful, technology-driven initiatives within KeHE’s IT organization over a 10–12 week period. Interns will gain hands-on experience in business analysis, working closely with cross-functional teams to support system enhancements, data-driven decision making, and digital transformation efforts.

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
  • Assist in translating business needs into functional and system requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Support Agile project teams by participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and backlog refinement sessions
  • Create and maintain process flows, use cases, and technical documentation
  • Assist in system testing efforts, including writing test cases, executing UAT, and validating results
  • Analyze data and system outputs to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for optimization
  • Support implementation of system enhancements and process improvements across enterprise applications
  • Help track project progress, risks, and dependencies using tools such as Jira or similar platforms

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of business analysis methodologies (Agile, SDLC, requirements gathering)
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau preferred)
  • Exposure to process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through academics, internships, or extracurricular activities
  • Demonstrated involvement in volunteer or community-based initiatives
  • Alignment with KeHE’s core values

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Previous coursework or internship experience related to business analysis, data analysis, or IT systems is a plus
