Parking Enforcement Officer 

Pay Rate: $12/hour 

Driver's License required 

UWM Transportation Services' mission is to provide transportation solutions that serve all modes of transportation within the UWM community, while supporting the mission of education and research.  We coordinate and administer all transportation-related services on campus, serving a diverse range of needs and focusing on reducing overall parking demand. The goal is to offer multiple travel choices, enhance multi-modal connectivity, and shift emphasis away from single-occupancy vehicle use. 

Job description 

The Student Enforcement Officer is responsible for identifying parking violations and issuing citations to vehicles not in compliance with University of Wisconsin Milwaukee policy.   

Qualifications & Expectations 

To apply for this position, one must be enrolled for at least three credits. Applicants must be willing to abide by all FAA work rules/practices specifically outlined but not limited to the Student Employment Handbook and handbooks and/or rules outlined by your department. 

Job Functions include but are not limited to: 

Operate our License Plate Reader (LPR) system to enforce parking violations across UWM properties. 

Investigates parking eligibility and compliance with policy. 

Accurately records vehicle description, location, and parking violation issue for parking citations. 

Assist with signage updates such as special visitor requests, welcome center spaces, and other reserved spaces. 

Assists with maintenance and waste removal from surface lots and garages. 

Assist with large event traffic control. 

Provides directions and education about parking with customers. 

Assists with troubleshooting pay station machine issues and gate issues. 

Additional duties as requested by Transportation Services Staff 

Must have a valid driver’s license for at least two years (if a Wisconsin license is held, it must be a Regular license, not Probationary). 

Must have no more than two moving violations in a three-year period. 

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 

Ability to work in all weather conditions indoors and outdoors.
