Student Custodian 

Pay Rate: $12/hour 

Driver's License preferred, but not required 

UWM Transportation Services' mission is to provide transportation solutions that serve all modes of transportation within the UWM community, while supporting the mission of education and research.  We coordinate and administer all transportation-related services on campus, serving a diverse range of needs and focusing on reducing overall parking demand. The goal is to offer multiple travel choices, enhance multi-modal connectivity, and shift emphasis away from single-occupancy vehicle use.

The primary goal of Student Custodian is to assist in cleaning duties, trash/debris removal from parking garages, stairwells, and lots. The secondary goal is to assist with other operational needs like supporting the call center and assisting with parking events on campus. The schedule is flexible, as our operations run 24/7. We are looking to have staffing each day of the week between the hours of 6 am - 11 pm.

Qualifications & Expectations 

To apply for this position, one must be enrolled for at least three credits. Applicants must be willing to abide by all FAA work rules/practices specifically outlined but not limited to the Student Employment Handbook and handbooks and/or rules outlined by your department. One - two evening shifts are required from the start time of about 4:00p-5:00p to about 9:00p-10:00p. Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 

Job Functions include but are not limited to: 

• Complete daily cleaning tasks for designated facilities as assigned 
• Maintaining garbage in all parking facilities, sweeping up leaves and other debris in parking facilities, adhering to all safety standards the department and University have set in place 
• Maintaining fleet vehicles that maintenance team uses – taking care of university property 
• Assisting with parking events on campus – with ingress and egress. Directing customers where park
