Vira Regen - Marketing, Social Media, and Brand Strategy for an Emerging Electrogenetics Company

Company Overview

Vira Regen is a Salt Lake City–based regenerative medicine company developing noninvasive bioelectronic medicines through electrogenetics, a new class of therapy that uses precisely engineered electrical signals to modulate gene expression on demand and drive tissue regeneration. Conventional electrical stimulation applies broad, undifferentiated fields; our platform instead pairs bioelectric stimulation with computational biology and machine learning to identify the specific signal patterns that activate targeted gene cascades. Our lead program, OsteoVolt™, is a noninvasive device for accelerating the healing of fresh and nonunion fractures that showed approximately 50% faster healing in preclinical models and is advancing along an FDA Class II 510(k) pathway, with a pipeline spanning knee osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, cancer electrotherapy, and human performance and longevity. The company is preclinical stage and has received a $2 million non-dilutive award through the DoW-MTEC consortium. Electrogenetics is an emerging field, which means part of building the company is building public understanding of the science itself.

Project Description

Students on this project will design and launch the marketing and communications engine for an emerging biotech company working in a field most people have never heard of. The work has four connected objectives: establish Vira Regen’s brand and voice as a credible early-stage biotech; explain electrogenetics to non-specialist audiences in a way that is accurate, compelling, and scientifically defensible; build the kind of visibility and inbound interest that supports investor conversations and partnership development; and cultivate a talent sphere of students, researchers, engineers, and clinicians who want to work on bioelectronic medicine. The team will develop audience and messaging frameworks for each of these groups, a brand and content style guide, and a multi-channel campaign calendar spanning LinkedIn, X, short-form video, earned media, scientific and industry conferences, and university and accelerator communities, along with sample content — posts, explainer graphics, short videos, and a science-communication series — produced and tested rather than merely proposed. Students are encouraged to use AI tools for content generation, visual asset creation, and performance analysis, with a clear human review step to ensure scientific accuracy. Deliverables are a documented brand and messaging playbook, a launched or launch-ready campaign with a 90-day content calendar, a measurement framework with defined KPIs for reach, engagement, inbound investor and recruiting interest, and a recommendation on the channels and cadence Vira Regen should sustain after the project ends. All investor-facing communication will be reviewed by Vira Regen leadership to ensure it stays within appropriate regulatory and securities-communication boundaries.
