Marketing Social Media Intern

The Hydration Well & Oxygen Bar is seeking a creative, motivated Marketing, Social Media & Content Creation Intern for approximately 5–10 hours per week, on-site at our Lake Orion location. The intern will work under the guidance of the business owner and our current social media supervisor, while also being encouraged to bring their own ideas, experience and perspective to the role.

The primary focus will be social media marketing, content creation, branding, graphic design, video editing and helping us maintain and grow a consistent, professional online presence. Responsibilities may include creating and organizing social media content, designing graphics in Canva and/or Adobe, assisting with marketing campaigns, and repurposing longer-form professional video into engaging short-form content for Reels, Stories and posts.

We currently have professional podcast interviews, a recent three-minute Fox 2 Detroit television segment and other video content that need to be reviewed and turned into strong short-form clips, sound bites and social media content with captions and graphics. Video editing and content repurposing skills are highly desirable, although expert-level experience is not required.

We are especially looking for someone who is proactive, comfortable taking ownership of projects and willing to offer input and recommendations based on what they know about social media and marketing. We want this person to participate in conversations about what content may work, what may not, what trends or approaches we should consider and how we can improve our marketing. This is a collaborative position where your ideas will be welcomed and, when appropriate, incorporated into real marketing decisions. Someone who prefers only to receive instructions and complete assigned tasks without contributing ideas may not be the best fit.

Because this is an on-site position, the intern will also provide light front-desk and guest support as needed, such as greeting or checking in a guest who arrives while the intern is working, then returning to their marketing projects. This is not primarily a front-desk position.

We are looking for someone who is creative, organized, dependable, self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience with a growing local wellness brand while having a meaningful voice in its marketing and content decisions.
