About Cosysense

Cosysense cuts electricity costs and carbon emissions in buildings by delivering optimised comfort through patented climate control powered by AI agents, digital twins, and sensors for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. We are a fast-growing Cambridge University spinout backed by leading UK and European investors.

Role Overview

Own the delivery of Cosysense installation projects from award to handover. Our first project of this scale is a five-storey occupied residential building in Surrey: over 150 apartments, twenty roof-mounted VRF systems, a fixed client programme and residents living in every flat while the work goes on.

You will run the installation subcontractor, hold the programme, control the paperwork and be the single point of accountability to the client. Cosysense supplies the pre-assembled hardware and carries out the commissioning; the installing electricians are subcontracted and report to you on site.

This is a delivery and management role with a strong technical core. Electrical qualifications are welcome and will be used for spot-checks, commissioning support and cover, but you are not the production crew. As the company grows, you will help define our installation standards, train partners and support the creation of a nationwide Cosysense installer network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the programme: sequence works, hold the critical path, and report progress and slippage to the client and the CEO.
  • Manage installation subcontractors on site, from enquiry and appointment through to final account.
  • Run the resident and managing-agent interface: weekly apartment lists, access bookings, appointment recovery, complaints and abortive visits.
  • Discharge health and safety duties under CDM 2015, including RAMS review, permits, work at height, and safe isolation practice.
  • Own quality: inspection and test plans, hold points, sign-off of circuit and apartment records, and certification returns.
  • Control project documentation, drawing revisions and as-built records; resolve conflicts in the issued pack before they reach site.
  • Manage commercial delivery: valuations, variations, day-rate and abortive-visit claims, and budget tracking against the contract sum.
  • Coordinate Cosysense commissioning of gateways, meters and radio, and support device addressing and transfer testing.
  • Conduct and validate site surveys, and reconcile quantities before hardware is released.
  • Carry out hands-on installation and testing where it helps the programme, and cover gaps in the crew.
  • Define installation procedures and best practice, and support the development of a certified Cosysense installer network across the UK.

Experience Required

  • 3+ years managing electrical, M&E, controls or smart-building installation works on site.
  • Demonstrable delivery in occupied buildings, ideally multi-dwelling residential, with resident access coordination.
  • Proven subcontractor management: appointing, directing, inspecting and paying trades.
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015 duties and BS 7671, and SMSTS or SSSTS (or willingness to obtain SMSTS on appointment).
  • Confident owner of project documentation: programmes, ITPs, RAMS, certification registers and progress reporting.
  • Comfortable as the client-facing lead, with credibility in front of asset managers and property managers.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to transport hardware and test equipment between sites.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.

Desirable Experience

  • Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification, 18th Edition and ECS card.
  • Inspection and Testing qualification (2391) and scheme registration (NICEIC or NAPIT).
  • Experience with VRF or HVAC controls, BMS, metering or IoT and LoRaWAN deployments.
  • Work at height and access equipment training (harness, IPAF, PASMA).
  • Build-to-rent or managed residential portfolio experience.
  • Formal project management training (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent).

Why Join Us

Join one of the UK's most exciting smart building startups and take first ownership of how we deliver on site. You will run a live project of real scale from day one, with direct exposure to AI, IoT, energy optimisation and digital twins, and a clear pathway towards heading delivery and our national partner network.

You will work closely with the founders and have the opportunity to influence how thousands of buildings are operated in the future.

Diversity & Inclusion

Cosysense welcomes diverse experiences and perspectives. We are committed to equal opportunities and inclusive hiring. We believe diverse perspectives strengthen innovation.
