Part-Time Instructional Paraprofessional
We are looking for a positive, dependable, and student-centered Instructional Paraprofessional to join our elementary school team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, being part of a school community, and developing leadership and educational skills.
Position Details
Hours: Approximately 29.5 hours per week
Schedule:
Monday–Thursday: Approximately 7:30 AM–2:30 PM
Friday: Approximately 7:30 AM–1:30 PM
Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Schedule may be adjusted based on school and student needs. Opportunity to negotiate hours.
Primary Responsibilities
The Instructional Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers, school staff, and administrators to support students throughout the school day. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting individual students and small groups with academic activities
- Assisting teachers with classroom instruction, routines, and activities
- Supervising elementary students during recess, lunch, transitions, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities
- Helping students follow school expectations and develop positive social and behavioral skills
- Providing a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for students
- Assisting with classroom preparation and other school needs as assigned
- Communicating and collaborating professionally with teachers, staff, students, and families
- Being flexible and willing to support different classrooms, grade levels, and areas of the school as needed
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check
- Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students
- Ability to communicate and collaborate professionally with students and staff
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
Physical Expectations
This position is active and requires the ability to:
- Be on your feet for a couple of hours at a time
- Walk throughout the school and outdoor areas
- Actively supervise students on the playground, in the cafeteria, and in other school settings
- Participate in the daily routines and activities of an elementary school
