TITLE: Branch Intern


REPORTS TO: Branch Manager


LOCATION: Canton Branch 


Unpaid - ability to earn college credits


Position Overview: 
The Branch Intern position offers a comprehensive introduction to the daily operations and strategic functions of the Mortgage Banking industry. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in customer service, administrative support, and basic financial processes, enabling interns to develop a strong foundation in banking and branch management. The intern will work closely with branch staff to understand client needs, assist with account maintenance, and support the execution of branch initiatives. Through this immersive experience, the intern will gain valuable insights into regulatory compliance, risk management, and effective communication within a financial institution. Ultimately, the role aims to prepare the intern for potential future opportunities in the mortgage banking industry by fostering professional growth and practical knowledge.

 

Responsibilities may include the following (as determined by the Branch Manager): 
• Assist branch staff with daily administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and document preparation.
• Support customer service activities by greeting clients, answering inquiries, and 
directing them to appropriate personnel.
• Help process basic financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and account updates under supervision.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to learn about branch products, services, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming branch environment to enhance customer experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous internship or work experience in a customer service or financial environment.
• Familiarity with banking products and services.
• Demonstrated interest in finance, business, or related fields.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
