YPs join the World Bank Group on an initial two-year term contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. During their first two years, they have the unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge and experience through rotational assignments across the World Bank Group.

Additionally, YPs take part in a structured learning and talent development journey through their YP Academy. Key elements include technical and operations training, language programs, negotiation and business skills, and leadership development. YPs also receive one-on-one coaching, connect with mentors, and engage in strategy-focused dialogues with senior leaders.

What you will bring

• Completion of a masters-level degree in a relevant field, or a higher qualification, before September 1, 2027
• 2-6 years of relevant professional experience  
• Demonstrated technical depth, technical breadth, expertise and experience in most of the following areas:
• Solid experience in a field such as finance (including, for example, a major commercial or investment bank; international financial institution; export credit agency, private equity firm; insurance), corporate development/mergers & acquisitions, management consulting, and/or financial advisory, preferably related to emerging markets.
• Strong financial, credit, and underwriting/risk assessment skills; sound business judgment, and preferably experience related to negotiating financial or guarantee/insurance contracts..
• Extensive knowledge of emerging markets finance and economic development, as well as high-level understanding of political and sovereign risk, and financial / insurance products used to mitigate such risks.
• Experience in portfolio supervision, project management, and investor relations, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes is a plus.
• Experience in product development, innovation, or process improvement within financial or operational contexts is a plus.
• Capacity to synthesize complex information and present actionable insights.
• Proficiency in digital tools and platforms including Excel, Power BI, SQL, and/or market intelligence systems such as Bloomberg, Dealogic, and Debt Domain. 
• Leadership potential, including accountability and results orientation, ability to influence and inspire results, and manage self, projects, people and results
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills: quantitative, qualitative, analytical, strategic; and sound business judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Flexibility and adaptability to working in complex multi-stakeholder and multi-cultural contexts
• Excellent command of spoken and written English language (fluency in other languages might be advantageous to your application)
