For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. We are currently seeking passionate and creative teachers to join our growing team in the areas of Westchester, Suffolk, and Bronx county, including Briarcliff Manor, Amityville, & White Plains. These unique positions will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position Highlights:

• Full Time Float Teacher: 10 months, 7:30-4:00pm. Supporting class instruction and coverages across NY team area.
• Part Time White Plains Teacher: 10 months, 12:00-4:00pm. Teaching adolescent ages 14-17. Inpatient eating-disorder treatment setting.
• Part Time Briarcliff Manor Teacher: 12 months, 8:00-12:00pm. Teaching adolescent ages 12-17. Residential eating-disorder treatment setting.
• Part Time Bronx Teacher: 10 months, 8:00-12:00pm. Teaching adolescent ages 12-17. Partial hospitalization day treatment program setting.
• Full Time Amityville Teacher: 10 months, 7:30-4:00pm. Teaching adolescent ages 12-17. Partial hospitalization day treatment program setting.

Technology, training, and resources are provided. Teachers prioritize student school assignments provided, and use LearnWell's library of lessons and resources to supplement student work.

Qualifications:

• B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
• New York State Teaching Certification
• Comfort working within a pediatric and adolescent population
• Reliable Transportation
