Computer Sales & Tech Associate — $16–$19
Love computers? Good with people? We can teach you the rest.
The Computer Outlet is looking for someone who enjoys technology, likes helping people and wants an opportunity to develop real-world computer skills.
You don't need years of professional IT experience.
If you're the person your friends and family call when they need help with their computer—or you've built PCs, upgraded laptops, installed Windows, replaced SSDs or RAM, or simply enjoy learning about technology—we'd like to talk to you.
What You'll Do
This is a hybrid position combining computer sales, basic technical work and day-to-day store operations.
You'll learn to:
Help customers choose the right laptop, desktop or workstation for their needs
Explain computer specifications in simple, understandable terms
Test and inspect refurbished computers
Install and configure Windows
Perform RAM and SSD upgrades
Transfer customer data
Perform basic computer diagnostics and troubleshooting
Prepare computers for resale
Clean and grade incoming equipment
Set up computers for customers
Assist with inventory and merchandising
Help maintain an organized, professional retail store
As your technical abilities grow, you'll have opportunities to take on more advanced repair and diagnostic work.
Who We're Looking For
We're more interested in your ability and attitude than what's printed on your résumé.
You may be a great fit if:
You genuinely enjoy computers and technology
You're comfortable talking with customers
You enjoy figuring out why something isn't working
You're dependable and show up when you're scheduled
You're willing to learn
You can explain things without making customers feel intimidated
You take pride in doing things correctly
You're comfortable working independently
You want to develop skills that can lead to a career in technology
Professional computer-repair experience is not required.
Experience building PCs, repairing computers for friends or family, working in electronics retail, studying IT/computer science, or working help desk is a plus.
Why Work at The Computer Outlet?
We're not a big-box electronics store.
The Computer Outlet is a locally owned computer business that has been serving customers for nearly 30 years.

This isn't just a cashier position.
You'll have an opportunity to learn:
Computer Sales → Hardware → Troubleshooting → Refurbishing → Repair → IT
The more you learn and the more responsibility you can handle, the more valuable you become to our company.
Compensation
Starting Pay: $16–$18/hour depending on experience and demonstrated ability
Opportunities for additional compensation and advancement as sales and technical skills develop.
