Sales & Community Outreach Intern
Sales & Community Outreach Intern
Marzae Cellar + Provisions | Boston Public Market
Part-Time | Approximately 8–15 hours/week | Flexible around class schedules
$15/hour + sales commission
Marzae Cellar + Provisions is a local winery and farm-to-table tasting room inside Boston Public Market. In addition to our tasting room, we offer private and group events, guided tasting experiences, and corporate gifting packages.
We’re looking for an outgoing, resourceful intern to help us introduce Marzae to more of the businesses, hotels, residential communities, and organizations around Boston.
This is a hands-on sales and business development internship. You’ll get experience with prospecting, B2B outreach, community partnerships, hospitality sales, lead tracking, and turning a cold introduction into an actual customer.
What You’ll Do
- Visit nearby hotels, apartment and condo buildings, offices, and local businesses to introduce Marzae and distribute promotional materials.
- Build relationships with concierges, property managers, office managers, HR/People teams, business owners, event planners, and other potential referral partners.
- Prospect for companies that may be interested in corporate gifting, team events, client entertainment, holiday parties, tastings, and private events.
- Make cold introductions in person, by email, and occasionally by phone.
- Follow up with interested prospects and help move leads toward a booking or purchase.
- Keep simple, organized records of contacts, conversations, follow-ups, and sales leads.
- Share what you’re hearing in the market so we can continuously improve our sales materials and offers.
Some shifts will involve walking around downtown Boston and making in-person introductions, so this position is best suited to someone who genuinely enjoys talking to new people.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is
- Friendly, confident, and comfortable starting conversations with strangers.
- Professional and able to represent a small hospitality business well.
- Persistent without being pushy.
- Reliable and organized about following up.
- Comfortable with both in-person outreach and written communication.
- Interested in sales, marketing, hospitality, entrepreneurship, events, or business development.
Previous sales experience is helpful, but it is not required. We’re much more interested in initiative, communication skills, and willingness to learn.
Because Marzae produces and serves wine, applicants should be comfortable working in an alcohol-serving environment. Drinking is never part of the job.
Compensation
$15/hour plus commission on attributable event and corporate gifting sales.
Interns earn an additional 5% of gross profit on qualifying first-time event bookings and corporate gifting orders generated through their outreach, according to our written lead-attribution policy.
Why This Internship
You’ll have the opportunity to see the direct connection between your outreach and actual business results. Rather than spending a semester observing a marketing department, you’ll develop practical experience in prospecting, relationship building, pitching, follow-up, sales strategy, and customer acquisition for a growing local business.
