Aerospace Engineer I

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. Relevant coursework: Orbital Mechanics, Linear Control Systems, Statistical Orbit Determination, and Optimization. Experience performing orbit determination using GPS data is highly desirable. 

Job Description: The Jr Aerospace Engineer will design, develop, and test various mathematically intensive software applications. The engineer will develop simulations for various Space Situational Awareness (SSA) topics including state estimation, error propagation, observation association, and collision avoidance maneuver planning. The aerospace engineer will analyze conjunction data messages for different satellites and perform various sets of analyzes to help quantify the collision risk. A strong background in mathematics and engineering is required. This position requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated and at times work with little supervision. The ability to interact with other professionals in various sectors is critical.

The essential roles and responsibilities will include:

·       Strong Matlab programming skills

·       5+ years’ experience with Matlab development

·       Probability & statistics; estimation theory

·       Java and MySQL programming experience highly desired
