After School Coding Instructor (Berkeley, CA)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and interactive after school instructors to lead hands-on classes this fall. Students will explore the exciting world of engineering, coding, problem-solving, and design through coding and robotics projects.

What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, hands-on coding & robotics classes in a fun and supportive environment
- Guide students through building, testing, and modifying robotic models
- Teach foundational engineering, robotics, and coding concepts through project-based learning
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Help students understand how sensors, motors, gears, and simple programming work together
- Facilitate robotics challenges, design activities, and collaborative projects
- Adapt instruction to accommodate varying skill levels and learning styles
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom culture
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and support
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure proper use of equipment and materials
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared and ready to deliver an exceptional STEM learning experience
What We're Looking For
- Passion for robotics, engineering, coding, technology, and STEM education
- Familiarity with programming languages and robotics kits including Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C/C++, Scratch; LEGO robotics, RaspberryPi/Arduino.
- Strong communication and classroom leadership skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts in an engaging and age-appropriate way
- Patient, reliable, organized, and professional attitude
- Comfortable leading hands-on projects and group activities
- Ability to encourage curiosity, experimentation, and creative problem-solving
- Prior teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp, robotics, or youth program experience is a plus but not required
- Background in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Education, or related fields is highly encouraged
