About the Role
Thanksgiving Church is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Elementary Ministry Director to lead JAMM, our elementary ministry serving grades 1-5.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the vision, curriculum, and weekly programming for JAMM
- Lead two services on Sundays and one midweek service.
- Recruit, train, and shepherd a team of volunteer teachers and leaders.
- Build relationships with children and families, fostering a welcoming and spiritually formative environment
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding ministry updates, events, and their child's spiritual growth
- Plan and execute special events (VBS, family nights, winter retreat, etc.)
- Ensure safety and child-protection policies are upheld across all programming
- Manage ministry budget, supplies, and classroom logistics
Qualifications
- Growing, mature relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the church's statement of faith
- Bachelor's degree preferred (ministry, education, or related field); relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
- Possess a seminary degree or pursuing a seminary degree.
- Prior experience in children's or elementary ministry, teaching, or related leadership role
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Heart for shepherding both children and the volunteers who serve them
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based, multi-ministry department
- Experience in multicultural (Korean American) ministry setting.
- Fluency in Korean preferred but not required.
