Internship Program Overview
The NASK Electrical, Software Engineering Internship is a tailored 12-week paid summer internship designed for freshmen to seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in the Department of Defense industry. This program is for future DOD Engineers and Developers who seek a culture built on excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

 As an Engineering Intern, you will receive impactful, project-based assignments that build your engineering skills while working with senior engineering professionals. These assignments will directly support current NASK business objectives, giving your work relevance and meaning. You will gain exposure to multiple facets of the software engineering process:

  • Software Design
  • Software Development
  • Software Test & Validation
  • Project Management

Depending on your interests and business needs, your project could cover topics such as algorithm development, databases, user interfaces, and RF signal processing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Related Engineering degree.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Able to complete a full 12-week internship working 40 hours per week within the dates: May 1st – August 30th, 2027.
  • Proven strength in the following: analysis and creative problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).
  • Fundamental software development skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strengths in analysis, creative problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
  • Strong interest in long-term career development and participation in leadership development programs.
  • Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom.
  • Completion of at least two years of university coursework
  • Previous Internship/Co-op experience
  • Education and/or experience in applying embedded controllers
  • Highly developed computer skills using electrical engineering software
  • Basic analog and digital circuit analysis and design

Internship Locations: Aurora, CO, Dayton, OH, Fairfax, VA

  • As a NASK intern, you must be open to embracing the adventure and remain receptive to any placement opportunity. By being adaptable, you will gain diverse experiences and develop a broader skill set, both essential to your professional development and success within NASK.
  • Our internship program is crafted to build the foundational skills and experiences essential for your career success. Upon completing the internship, those who demonstrate exceptional performance and a strong passion for learning may be offered a returning internship or a position in our rotational leadership development program.
  • Programming Hours: onsite, office hours with weekly collaboration
  • Final Presentations: present to our senior-level leaders to showcase your career aspirations and recap your internship experience.

The Selection Process:

  1. Applications are open from September- November each year.
  2. Applications will be reviewed, and shortlisted candidates will typically be contacted for an initial 30-45-minute phone screen by the end of September and October.
  3. Candidates selected to move forward will be invited to participate in a virtual interview with Senior Engineers.
  4. Successful candidates will move forward to an offer.
  5. All specific internship assignments are communicated in March – April.

This is a paid internship; NASK Incorporated considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role and responsibilities, work experience, education, training, certifications, geographic location, and market data.
