The role

A Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients across a wide range of medical conditions, illnesses, and post-operative needs. You'll be the constant — assessing patients, catching changes early, coordinating with the team, and keeping care moving forward. Med/Surg is the backbone of hospital nursing, and good nurses here make a real difference every shift.

What you'll do

- Perform thorough patient assessments at the start of each shift and continuously monitor for changes in condition.- Track vital signs, pain, oxygenation, and overall status — and act when something's off.- Administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments accurately and on time.- Provide wound care, catheter care, and other hands-on nursing interventions.- Prepare patients pre-op and support recovery post-surgery.- Help patients with mobility and daily activities; keep fall-prevention front of mind.- Review lab results and flag significant changes to providers quickly.- Educate patients and families on medications, treatment plans, and what to expect after discharge.- Work closely with physicians, case managers, therapists, and the broader care team.- Keep documentation tight, accurate, and timely; follow infection-control and safety protocols without shortcuts.

- Medical-Surgical and Acute-Care Hospital Units- Community, General, Teaching, and Specialty Hospitals- Rehabilitation and Post-Surgical/Inpatient Units- Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACHs)

About you

- Active RN license (required).- Med/Surg, acute-care, or hospital nursing experience preferred — new grads with clinical rotations in med/surg are encouraged to apply.- Solid assessment skills, strong organizational habits, and the ability to prioritize when everything feels urgent.- Comfortable managing a multi-patient assignment in a busy environment.- BLS certification required; additional certifications may be needed depending on the facility.
