Bookkeeping Assistant
A Bookkeeping Assistant supports a company’s accounting or finance department by maintaining financial records, processing transactions, organizing documents, and assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
Responsibilities
- Record and organize daily financial transactions.
- Enter invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial information.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank and credit-card statements.
- Prepare and maintain financial records and spreadsheets.
- Process and track invoices and customer payments.
- Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping tasks.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on payments.
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial documents.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Identify discrepancies and help resolve accounting errors.
- Prepare basic financial reports for management or accountants.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; accounting or finance coursework is a plus.
- Previous bookkeeping, accounting, administrative, or office experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
