Talent Acquisition Specialist

Help Us Recruit the Next Generation of Shipbuilders

Talent Acquisition Specialist – Apprenticeship & Workforce Programs
Hanwha Philly Shipyard | Philadelphia, PA

Want a recruiting job where you’re not sitting behind a desk all day reviewing resumes?

We’re looking for an early-career professional who wants to get out into the community, visit schools, meet students, attend career fairs, build relationships, create content, and help people discover careers they may not have known existed.

At Hanwha Philly Shipyard, we're building more than ships. We're building the next generation of skilled tradespeople who will help shape the future of American shipbuilding.

And we need someone who can help us find them.

What You'll Be Doing

No two weeks will look exactly the same.

You might spend one day talking with students at a technical school, another planning an apprenticeship recruiting event, and the next helping candidates navigate interviews, testing, tours, and offers.

You'll:

Represent Hanwha Philly Shipyard at colleges, high schools, trade schools, career fairs, workforce events, and community programs.

Help recruit candidates for our apprenticeship and skilled trades programs.

Build relationships with schools, educators, workforce organizations, and community partners.

Find creative new ways to introduce people to careers in shipbuilding.

Use social media, digital outreach, text, video, and other tools to connect with candidates.

Help create recruiting campaigns and employer-branding content.

Coordinate interviews, shipyard tours, testing, offers, and candidate communications.

Keep candidates informed and create a great experience from application through onboarding.

Track recruiting activity and help us understand what's working—and what we should do differently.

Occasionally roll up your sleeves and help solve whatever recruiting challenge comes next.

Who We're Looking For

You don't need 10 years of recruiting experience.

We're looking for someone early in their career who is organized, outgoing, curious, comfortable meeting new people, and excited about building something.

You'll probably enjoy this job if you:

Like talking to people and aren't afraid to introduce yourself to a room full of strangers.

Are comfortable giving presentations or willing to become great at it.

Enjoy career fairs, campus events, community outreach, and relationship building.

Can manage a lot of moving pieces without losing track of the details.

Know your way around social media and digital communication.

Are comfortable learning recruiting technology and Applicant Tracking Systems.

Have ideas and aren't afraid to suggest them.

Can work independently but enjoy being part of a team.

Want a role where you'll have an opportunity to make a visible impact.

What We'd Like You to Bring

A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Education, or a related field is preferred, along with approximately 2 years of experience in recruiting, campus recruiting, workforce development, community engagement, early-career programs, skilled trades, or a similar area.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is also important.

You'll need to be willing to travel approximately 25–30% for school visits, career fairs, and recruiting events, primarily throughout the region. Some events may also require occasional evening or weekend availability.
