Federal Work Study - Student Outreach & Engagement Coordinator

Department: Center for Women, Gender and Global Leadership (CWGGL)  

Location: Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library (In-Person)  

Supervisor: Imani Hopkins, Program Coordinator 

Hours: Up to 8 hours per week (flexible around class schedule) 

Employment Period: Fall & Spring Semesters  

Start Date: September 1, 2026 

End Date: April 16, 2027  

Purpose of Role within CWGGL: The Student Outreach & Engagement Coordinator serves as CWGGL's primary liaison to the Howard University student community. This role builds awareness of and participation in CWGGL programs, cultivates relationships with student organizations, and helps connect the Center's mission to the broader HU campus community. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

Identify and build relationships with relevant student organizations, affinity groups, and campus offices 

Represent CWGGL at campus fairs and co-curricular events 

Develop and maintain a database of student organizations and key contacts 

Assist with student recruitment for CWGGL programming, events, and initiatives 

Draft outreach communications including emails, flyers, and announcements targeting student audiences 

Track and report on outreach activities and student engagement metrics each semester 

Support event logistics when student mobilization is needed 

Help maintain and inventory outreach materials 

Perform occasional administrative duties and office maintenance of common office space 

Qualifications 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

Familiarity with Howard University's campus organizations and culture preferred 

Ability to work independently and take initiative 

Must be a currently enrolled student at Howard University who has been awarded Federal Work-Study (FWS) for the current academic year.

If you are offered and accept the position, you must complete all required HR and payroll paperwork before your official start date. You are required to attend an onboarding orientation.
