Summer Intern - (Helpdesk) Information Systems

 

Job Location: Central Office (601 West Main A, Jefferson City, Missouri)

The information systems internship is all about gaining hands-on experience.  You'll work closely with our knowledgeable and experienced staff who will provide training and guidance.  You'll have the opportunity to learn about end user support, software and hardware troubleshooting, and Help Desk ticket management.  Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.

 

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Prepare desktops and laptops: Base image machines, identify software needs, install the necessary software, and set up at the user's desk.
  • Phone support: Respond to user questions and provide hardware and software support using remote control tools.
  • On-site support: Work alongside experienced staff to provide face-to-face and on-site support.
  • Tickets: Handle tickets submitted to the Help Desk, perform troubleshooting and resolve issues.
  • Inventory management: Use our Asset Management System to manage and document any changes in our inventory.  Scrub machines and prepare for the surplus process.

 

Qualifications - All you need for success

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a relevant 2-year/associate’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
  • 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
  • Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
