Business Analytics & Entertainment Investment Research Intern

Business Analytics & Entertainment Investment Research Intern

Strategic Intelligence • Industry Research • Network Analysis • Film Financing

About Hemmy Productions

Hemmy Productions LLC is an independent entertainment company developing feature films and television projects. As we expand our investor outreach, we are conducting a deeper level of research into companies involved in entertainment financing, production, and investment.

We are looking for a Business Analytics & Entertainment Investment Research Intern who can apply business research and analytical thinking to a real-world entertainment industry problem.

This is not a generic internet research assignment.

You will be assigned one entertainment company from our investor outreach shortlist and asked to investigate the business ecosystem surrounding that company—its leadership, relationships, projects, financing connections, and potential paths for professional outreach.

The Business Analytics Challenge

Our first research phase identified companies that may be relevant to Hemmy Productions.

Now we need to go deeper.

Your assignment will be to answer questions such as:

  • Who actually makes the decisions at this company?
  • What companies, investors, producers, studios, or industry professionals are they connected to?
  • What films or projects reveal those relationships?
  • If they worked with another company, who was behind that relationship?
  • Can we follow those connections one step further?
  • What does the company's financing history tell us?
  • Who appears to be part of its broader business network?
  • Is there a potential warm introduction path through someone connected to the company?
  • What legitimate public business contact information can be identified?
  • Based on your research, what would you recommend Hemmy Productions investigate or pursue first—and why?

Why This Is a Business Analytics Internship

This project requires you to think beyond simply finding information.

You will be practicing the same type of thinking used in business intelligence, competitive analysis, market research, due diligence, strategic research, and decision support.

You will need to:

Find → Verify → Connect → Analyze → Interpret → Recommend

For example:

A company worked on Film A.
Who financed Film A?
Who produced it?
Who distributed it?
Which executives were involved?
Are those people connected to other companies?
Where does that network lead?

The goal is to follow the evidence and uncover the business relationships behind the company.

What You Will Do

Each intern will be responsible for ONE company, allowing you to take ownership of your research rather than contributing a small piece to a large generic assignment.

Your research will include:

  • Executive and decision-maker research
  • Industry and competitive research
  • Business relationship mapping
  • Project and production research
  • Financing and investment research
  • Network analysis
  • Due-diligence style source verification
  • Identification of potential introduction pathways
  • Public business contact research
  • Strategic analysis and recommendations
  • Preparation of a professional research report

Every significant finding must be supported by a reliable source.

What You Will Gain

This internship can give you practical experience in:

  • Business intelligence
  • Business analytics
  • Strategic research
  • Investment research
  • Market and industry analysis
  • Competitive intelligence
  • Network mapping
  • Due diligence
  • Executive research
  • Source verification
  • Professional business reporting
  • Strategic recommendations
  • Entertainment industry business

You will also gain experience applying your academic business-analysis skills to an industry where relationships, financing, partnerships, and decision-makers are critical.

Who We Are Looking For

We are especially interested in students studying:

  • Business Analytics
  • Business Administration
  • Finance
  • Economics
  • Marketing
  • Management
  • Data Analytics
  • Strategic Management
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Related business or research disciplines

No previous film-industry experience is required.

In fact, we are looking for students who naturally think like investigators:

“If this company worked with them, how did that relationship happen—and where can I follow it?”

You should be comfortable searching for information, comparing sources, identifying patterns, asking follow-up questions, and turning your findings into a clear business report.

A Strong Resume Story

At the end of the internship, you should be able to describe your work as something more meaningful than “I researched a film company.”

For example:

Conducted strategic business intelligence research on an entertainment investment/production company, mapping executives, industry relationships, projects, financing connections, and potential business-development pathways.

That is the kind of experience we want you to be able to take with you.

Internship Structure

  • Remote
  • Internship / Research Project
  • One company assigned per intern
  • Flexible schedule
  • Independent research with guidance from Hemmy Productions
  • Professional research report required at completion
  • Opportunity to contribute research directly to Hemmy Productions' investor outreach strategy

Why This Project Matters

Hemmy Productions is currently building a targeted investor outreach strategy. Your research will help us understand not only which companies may be relevant, but how the entertainment business network around those companies actually works.

We are looking for students who want to go beyond finding information and learn how to turn information into intelligence.

If you enjoy digging deeper, connecting seemingly unrelated pieces of information, and figuring out what the evidence means from a business perspective, we would love to hear from you.
