Gymnastics Coach – Part-Time
Community Youth Center (CYC) is seeking a dependable, enthusiastic, and positive Gymnastics Coach to join our gymnastics program. We are looking for someone who is available to coach 3–5 days per week and is willing to provide substitute coverage when needed.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and has a strong understanding of gymnastics fundamentals, safe coaching practices, and age-appropriate instruction. We are looking for someone who can create a fun, encouraging, and structured environment while helping gymnasts build confidence, strength, coordination, and technical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Coach recreational gymnastics classes for children of various ages and skill levels
- Teach and demonstrate basic to advanced gymnastics skills appropriate to each class
- Lead warm-ups, skill instruction, drills, and conditioning
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive gymnastics environment
- Provide appropriate spotting and hands-on instruction when qualified
- Monitor students and ensure proper use of equipment and safe training practices
- Give students positive, constructive feedback and encouragement
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, parents, and fellow coaches
- Maintain class structure and follow CYC gymnastics program expectations
- Be dependable and prepared for scheduled shifts
- Provide substitute coverage for other coaches when needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous gymnastics coaching experience preferred
- Strong understanding of gymnastics skills, progressions, and safety
- Comfortable working with children
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team
- Availability to coach 3–5 days per week
- Willingness to occasionally substitute when other coaches are unavailable
Training:
Paid, on-site training will be provided. We are happy to help the right candidate develop their coaching skills and become familiar with CYC's coaching standards, class structure, and safety procedures.
