Operations Project Analyst
Location: Jersey City, NJ | Contract | Hybrid
We are seeking an Operations Project Analyst to join the project team within the Funds Transfer Department of a reputable, well-established financial services company. This role will support a variety of operational projects and initiatives, with responsibilities spanning testing, defect resolution, implementation, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have experience in custody, funds transfer, investment operations, or a related financial operations environment. Familiarity with the project lifecycle is beneficial, but prior project experience is not required.
Responsibilities
Project & Operations Support
- Participate in various stages of Funds Transfer projects, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation
- Assist with test preparation and user acceptance testing
- Execute test scripts accurately and within established timelines
- Identify, document, and appropriately escalate defects and issues
- Assist with defect resolution and follow-up as needed
- Help identify and resolve project challenges to keep initiatives moving forward
- Support project implementation activities and reporting
- Represent the Funds Transfer team on projects led by other departments when needed
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently to help the team meet project objectives
Collaboration & Communication
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and internal business partners
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and constructively with project stakeholders
- Respond effectively to project team needs and proactively identify potential issues or roadblocks
- Work collaboratively with others while also being comfortable managing responsibilities independently
Qualifications
- Experience in custody, funds transfer, investment operations, or a related financial services operations function is highly preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing issues
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with the project lifecycle is a plus, but not required
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule in Jersey City, NJ
Position Details
- Contract: 6 months
- Hours: 35 hours per week, with potential for overtime
- Work arrangement: Hybrid; the team prefers a schedule of 3 days in the Jersey City office and 2 days remote, though fully remote work may also be considered
- Contract-to-hire: This is currently a contract-only opportunity. However, the team frequently considers active consultants for future full-time opportunities when FTE positions become available
