P&C Finance Intern

Job Summary: 

The P&C Finance Intern will:

  • Learn about reinsurance and applications through on the job training with consummate members of the organization
  • Gain technical, analytical, and decision-making skills through formal and informal learning opportunities
  • Enhance analytical skills utilizing various applications (Business Objects, MS Excel)
  • Complete special projects or assignments that assist the Finance, and accounting departments
  • Network with senior leaders and experienced teammates to develop and understanding of the industry as well as create professional connections
  • Receive formal and informal feedback throughout the program

 

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned closing tasks on a timely basis
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive files to support all audits  
  • Adhere to timelines set in local closing calendars
  • Run reports to provide support for the daily Landing during the US Statutory quarter close period
  • Review quarterly variance analysis
  • Investigate possible anomalies during analysis of local results
  • Prepare various analytical reports and aid technical reporting and regulatory reporting departments with other special projects
  • Present data-driven recommendations to the Finance team 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working towards the completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in insurance and/or Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, other business, analytical, or data related field, or advanced degree at an accredited college or university. 
  • Strong academic performance and experience working on a variety of projects
  • Demonstrated flexibility in managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products (with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint)

Pay Range for roles performed in New York: $25.50-$27.50 hourly rate. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including
but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance
