About iLearnAI
iLearnAI is an AI-first coding and robotics education center serving students from elementary school through high school.
Our students learn by building real projects in artificial intelligence, coding, robotics, machine learning, computer vision, generative AI, and related technologies.
We are looking for a strong technical educator who can independently teach engaging classes, create high-quality learning materials, and continuously improve the curriculum based on student needs and emerging technologies.
Role Summary
The Lead Instructor & Curriculum Developer will deliver high-quality AI, robotics, and coding instruction while helping create and improve iLearnAI's educational materials.
This is a hands-on teaching role for someone who is technically strong, highly organized, comfortable working independently, and able to create engaging learning experiences without detailed day-to-day supervision.
You should be able to take a learning objective, such as:
"Teach middle school students how image classification works"
and independently turn it into an age-appropriate lesson with explanations, activities, code, examples, challenges, and a student project.
Key Responsibilities
Teach AI, Robotics & Coding
Deliver engaging, project-based instruction to students in-person and through live online classes.
You should be comfortable teaching and managing up to 10 students simultaneously while supporting students working at different speeds and skill levels.
Classes should be:
Hands-on and project-based
Engaging and interactive
Well organized
Age appropriate
Challenging but achievable
Adaptable to different student abilities
Develop Curriculum & Teaching Materials
Help build and improve iLearnAI's curriculum.
Responsibilities may include:
Creating lesson plans
Developing student guides
Developing instructor guides
Creating coding exercises
Creating AI and robotics projects
Preparing starter code
Creating project instructions
Developing worksheets and challenges
Creating assessments and quizzes
Identifying useful datasets and resources
Testing projects before they are used in class
Updating existing lessons when technologies change
Creating supplementary activities for advanced students
The instructor should be able to independently research unfamiliar technologies and develop suitable learning activities around them.
Adapt Lessons to Student Needs
Not every student learns at the same pace.
You should be able to:
Recognize when a student is struggling
Recognize when a student needs more challenge
Adjust project difficulty
Provide additional exercises
Help students debug code
Explain concepts in multiple ways
Keep advanced students engaged while helping students who need additional support
Track Student Progress
Maintain simple records of student progress including:
Skills learned
Projects completed
Areas requiring additional practice
Recommended next projects
Student strengths and interests
Provide parents with clear, concise updates when appropriate about what their child is learning and building.
Create Meaningful Student Projects
Students should build things they are proud to demonstrate.
Projects may include:
AI image classifiers

Voice-controlled applications
Sensor-based projects
Capstone projects
Whenever possible, students should finish lessons with something they can build, demonstrate, explain, or improve.
Classroom Technology
Be comfortable independently setting up and troubleshooting commonly used classroom technology including:

Classroom accounts and software
Basic troubleshooting should not require constant assistance.

You do not need to know every technology listed.
You should, however, be technically capable and comfortable learning new tools independently.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Robotics, Education Technology, or a related STEM field
Strong programming ability, particularly Python
Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or working with students
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Ability to create educational materials independently
Ability to manage up to 10 students simultaneously
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, organized, and self-directed
Comfortable working with children and teenagers
Must successfully complete required background checks and fingerprinting

What This Role Does Not Include
This role is focused on education and instruction.
You will not be responsible for:

Schedule
Classes are primarily held after school on weekdays and during weekends.
Availability during these hours is important.
Both in-person and live online instruction may be required.
Compensation
$25 per hour
This position provides an opportunity to gain substantial hands-on experience teaching emerging AI and robotics technologies while helping shape project-based educational content used by iLearnAI students.
