Now Hiring: Shoe Guru (Sales Associate) – Reno Running Company

Location: Reno, NV (Summit Mall, Lakeside, Sparks locations)
Position Type: Part-Time (15-30 hours/week)
Ideal for: College students interested in fitness, business, health, or customer experience

 

Position Overview

Reno Running Company is seeking high-energy, reliable individuals to join our team as Shoe Gurus. This role combines customer service, product expertise, and movement-based fitting to deliver a personalized retail experience.

You will be trained to assess customer needs, recommend footwear, and create a welcoming, community-driven environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service through one-on-one interaction
  • Perform basic gait and fit assessments (training provided)
  • Recommend footwear and accessories based on customer needs
  • Educate customers on product features and brand differences
  • Meet and exceed individual and store sales goals
  • Maintain store standards: merchandising, restocking, cleanliness
  • Accurately process transactions using POS system

  • Ability to actively listen and assess customer needs
  • Confidence in making recommendations and guiding decisions

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods (4–8 hour shifts)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (shoe boxes, inventory)
  • Reliable transportation to and from work

 

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Retail experience
  • Interest in running, fitness, or active lifestyle
  • Previous customer service, sales, or team-based experience
  • Background in kinesiology, health sciences, or sports-related fields
