Estimating Co-op
Position Summary:
- Assists Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents and Estimators in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met.
- The goal of the program is providing each candidate with on-the-job training along with mentors to truly understand the responsibilities of a Junior Estimator in Construction and an understanding of the career path opportunities available
Responsibilities:
- Participate in team delivery of project estimates.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, owner contracts and other documentation to prepare estimates or portions of estimates on assigned projects.
- Solicit subcontractors and suppliers for bids and assure adequate coverage for each scope of work.
- Prepare Bid Packages in iSqFt and/or Excel.
- Add new info to iSqFt as shown on returned bid invites.
- Assist in preparation of instructions to bidders, bid form and other project specific bid solicitation information as required.
- Assist in the performance of the quantity take-offs and pricing effort for pre- construction estimates.
- Distribute documents to project Team.
- Perform electronic quantity take-offs and extract quantities from digital documents.
- Track historical data from vendors for both contact and cost information.
- Assist in maintaining the flow of project information and documentation during the bidding and pre-construction process.
- Participate in periodic site visits to projects as appropriate and as time allows.
- Communicate via phone and email with clients and subcontractors.
