Technical Patent Writer
A small stealth stage corporation is seeking a Technical Patent & White Paper Writer
We are an early RF company with a lot of R&D output, early revenue, and modest profitability. We need a part-time scientific writer to work with the founder on the written record: drafting and editing provisional patent applications, and writing and editing technical white papers.
You do not need to be a USPTO-registered patent agent. Drafts are prepared under the founder's guidance. You do need the scientific footing to get the physics right.
What you'll do:
- Draft and edit provisional patent applications and supporting invention notes
- Write and edit technical white papers on RF systems
- Work in an AI-assisted writing workflow (we'll train you on our tools)
- Keep work precise enough for a patent record and clear enough to persuade
What we're looking for:
- STEM bachelor's required; EE, RF/microwave, or physics is a strong plus
- Working RF fundamentals, or the math/physics to learn them quickly
- Excellent scientific writing: precise, structured, defensible
- Comfortable making calls without waiting to be told, and close to unpublished technical work, so discretion matters
- US-based. Boulder area is a plus; willingness to visit occasionally is also a plus
Apply via email to:
stephan@starzl.com
How to apply:
1. A short note in your own voice, not AI boilerplate, on why this fits
2. A writing sample you authored: paper, patent, white paper, or similar
3. Your RF and AI-tool background, stated honestly, including "none yet, and here's how I'd close the gap"
